Visit two historic sites in Spain on one day trip from Madrid! Get to know Toledo, the city of Three Cultures and the Monasterio De San Lorenzo De El Escorial, a symbol of Spanish power in the 16th century.
The excursion begins traveling in a comfortable air-conditioned coach from Madrid with an official guide. The first stop will be at El Escorial, where its impressive Monastery awaits you. The Monasterio De San Lorenzo de El Escorial was conceived as a Residence, Monastery and Pantheon of the Royal Household under the mandate of the powerful King Felipe II and It has been declared a Historical Artistic Site and World Heritage Site.
Inside, you can admire the Palace of the Habsburgs, the Pantheon of Kings and Infants, the Chapter Rooms, the < b>Cloisters of the Four Evangelists, the Museum of Architecture and the Basilica.
9 km from El Escorial is the next stop on your tour, the Valley of the Fallen. Here we will visit the impressive Basilica, built between 1940 and 1959 to honor the Spanish who died during the Civil War and carved into the rock of a mountain 1350 m above sea level. In addition, we will admire the imposing cross of more than 150 meters high.
Then we will return to Madrid, where we will have 1 hour of free time for lunch (not included), before leaving for Toledo, the city of Three Cultures.
In Toledo you will start with a panoramic view of the city from the Mirador del Valle to get the perfect photo. Next, we will visit a damascene workshopwhere we can admire the ancient craft technique of inlaying precious metals in steel, widely used to make swords and other typical Castilian souvenirs.
We will continue with a pleasant walk through the city to reach the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, where you will see the exterior of the Primada Cathedral, in the Gothic style, the old Palace of Justice and the Town Hall. You will then have free time to explore Toledo on your own.
Later, you will meet your guide again to start the trip back to Madrid.
